Creating a table chart

In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of creating a Table charts. This chart is commonly used to display metrics like progress, completion percentages, or performance indicators.

1. Access the Dashboard



To start creating a table, you'll first need to access your dashboard folder. Dashboard folders are located on the right green sidebar of the WebApp. If you don't have a dashboard yet, you'll need to create one by clicking on the yellow icon Create dashboard. Once you're in your dashboard, click on the plus (+) button under the Add chart



2. Choose the Chart Type



A dialog box will appear for you to select the type of chart you want to create. From the dropdown menu, select "Table".





3. Add a Chart Tag



Next, you'll need to add a chart tag. This tag should be unique and separated by underscores if it comprises of more that one word / letter e.g (v_d Visit_Details)



4. Add a Chart Title



Now, add a title for your chart. This title should represent what the chart is about. For example, if your chart is about the visit details, you might choose a title like "Visit Details".




5. Add a Chart Description



Add a description for your chart. This helps other users understand what the chart is about and what the query does. For example, you might write "Daily visit details"




6. Full width & Display total row Toggle



In this step, you'll configure various options for your chart:

- Force the display of the chart in Full Width : For a table, Its advisable that you enable the table to display full width since it might comprise of so many columns hence a full view will be more readable.
- Display total row: Enable the row total toggle if you have integer columns in the table that you may want to see the total value at the bottom of the table.




10. Add a Query



Finally, you'll need to add a query that will fetch the data from the respective databases. This query should return several columns from the different databases that have been joined depending on the relationship they have. Remember to use GROUP BY in your query to group the aggregated columns.

And that's it! You've created your first table Chart. Remember, you can always edit your chart later if you need to make changes or adjustments.
