Types of Dashboards


Dashboards are essential tools that provide visual insights into various data points through different chart components.


Each dashboard is composed of several charts that help users analyze performance, track metrics, and make informed decisions.


There are two primary components of dashboards in FieldPro:


Template Dashboards and Custom Dashboards.


Dashboard Components


  1. Template Dashboards


Template dashboards are derived from existing dashboards.


These templates allow users to quickly create new dashboards based on pre-defined layouts and metrics, ensuring consistency and saving time in the dashboard creation process.Clients can customize these templates to fit their specific needs while leveraging the foundational structure already established.


  1. Custom Dashboards


Custom dashboards provide users with the flexibility to design their own dashboards from scratch. This option allows for complete control over the layout, metrics displayed, and the types of visualizations used. Clients can select specific data points and choose from various chart types to create a dashboard that meets their unique operational requirements.


  1. Home Page Dashboards


Homepage dashboards are customizable, user-friendly interfaces designed to provide users with a snapshot of key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and updates relevant to their role and environment.


These dashboards are tailored to streamline workflows and offer actionable insights at a glance.



Key Dashboard Components


The following are the key components that can be included in dashboards:


  1. Table


Tables present data in a structured format, allowing users to compare and analyze multiple data points easily. They are particularly useful for displaying detailed information where users need to see specific values side by side.



  1. Scorecard


Scorecards summarize key performance indicators (KPIs) in a concise manner, providing a quick overview of critical metrics. They help users quickly assess performance against targets or benchmarks.



  1. Gauge


Gauges visualize progress towards a specific goal or target, showing how close a metric is to its desired value. This type of visualization is effective for monitoring metrics like sales targets or project completion rates.



  1. Line Chart


Line charts illustrate trends over time by connecting data points with a continuous line. They are ideal for visualizing changes in metrics such as sales or customer engagement over specific periods.



  1. Multi Line Chart


Similar to the line chart, multi-line charts allow users to display multiple lines representing different data series on the same graph. This enables comparisons between different metrics over the same time frame.



  1. Bar Chart


Bar charts represent categorical data with rectangular bars, making it easy to compare values across categories. They are effective for showing differences in quantities among discrete groups.



  1. Stacked Bar Chart


Stacked bar charts display bars divided into segments that represent sub-categories within each main category. This format helps users understand the composition of each category while still allowing for overall comparisons.



  1. Pie Chart


Pie charts visualize proportions of a whole by dividing a circle into slices, each representing a category's contribution to the total.


They are useful for showing percentage distributions among the field users and workflows filled etc.



  1. Horizontal Bar Chart


Horizontal bar charts function similarly to standard bar charts but display bars horizontally instead of vertically.


This format can improve readability when dealing with long user names.



  1. Heatmap


Heatmaps use color coding to represent data values across two dimensions, highlighting areas of high and low activity or performance.


They are particularly useful for identifying patterns or trends in large datasets for users.



  1. Timeline


Timelines visualize events in chronological order, helping users understand the sequence and timing of activities or milestones within users



  1. Carousel

Carousels allow users to cycle through multiple visualizations or reports in a single view, providing an interactive way to explore different datasets without cluttering the dashboard.
