QR codes are designed to enhance customer management for our users, by providing a quick and accurate way to select customers.

QR codes help reduce the risk of errors and duplicates, especially when multiple customers have similar names or are located close to one another. This feature helps mobile users, by ensuring efficient access to customer information and improving overall productivity in the field.

Context

Currently, customer display on the mobile app is followed by 2 primary logics:

By Distance - If the GPS of the mobile user is switched on, they will view customers that are closest to them.

By Alphabetical Order - If GPS is not enabled, customers can be viewed in alphabetical order. Additionally, users have the option to view nearby customers on a map.

However, as mobile users often manage numerous customers in close proximity with similar names, this could lead to erroneous selections and duplicates. To address this challenge, we have introduced a new method for selecting customers using QR codes.

How to retrieve the QR code associated with a customer on the web

A unique QR code is created for every customer in the list.

To extract the QR code for an individual customer:

Click on the QR icon located at the top of the expanded view for that customer.

This action will display a page containing the QR code for that specific customer.

Alternatively, you can download QR codes in bulk for all customers:

Click on the list options and select "Download QR Codes."

This will generate an email with a link to a PDF file containing the QR codes for all customers.

How to select a customer with a QR code on the mobile

On the mobile app, selecting a customer using a QR code is straightforward:

Click on the QR code icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
Scan the QR code displayed at the customer's location.

Once scanned, the corresponding customer will be automatically selected in your list, allowing you to initiate a workflow seamlessly.

If the mobile user does not have access to this customer, an error message will appear, ensuring that only authorized users can proceed.

Important Note: The QR code must be printed and displayed at the customer's location for accurate scanning.

By integrating this new feature into our mobile app, we aim to enhance user experience and operational efficiency, making it easier for mobile users to manage their customer interactions effectively.
